    Prior to joining Advicoach, Rich worked for many years as a business attorney, primarily focused on counseling firms through all stages of growth from raw startup to public firms with hundreds of investors. Rich has dealt with issues related to rapid growth, turn-arounds, venture capital and securities offerings, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, turn-arounds and foreign operations. He served as a board member of companies in a wide range of industries as well as a number of tax exempt entities. As an Advicoach Rich appreciates the additional set of tools he can leverage to aid entrepreneurs and managers to achieve their dreams.

    Rich practiced law for over 40 years performing primarily transactional work, dealing with all issues of business launch, rapid expansion, profit improvement, and succession planning. In connection with that work, he had experience in transactions involving firms at all stages of development from raw startups to publicly registered firms in a variety of industries which included service, manufacturing, financial and hospitality firms. 

     He served as an officer, director and executive planning team member of multiple businesses, working in strategic planning, feasibility analysis, due diligence investigations, policy development and contingency planning. He has been a member of multiple startup teams.

     Rich is experienced in international business transactions as secretary and member of board of directors of companies operating in Ireland, Costa Rica, China and other countries. He is also experienced in executive succession planning, and has served as occasional interim executive.

     Rich joined Baltus Group, LLC in 2015, a multi-unit franchisee of AdviCoach, specializing in business coaching for successful business ownership.

    He currently lives in Grafton, Wisconsin. He is widowed after 31 years of happy marriage. Raised two children, Aleece and Katie, and now have five grandchildren, who live in Shorewood, Wisconsin and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Rich is  constant reader of books on business leadership and team success, and is an avid fitness enthusiast.  He also enjoys charitable work, travel and tourism.

    Professional Training

    Rich graduated in the top 10% of class from University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School in 1969 with a Juris Doctor degree. His undergraduate B.S. degree was awarded in 1966 by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he majored in political science with minors in Economics and English. He was a college debater and has past radio, television and public speaking experience.  He is also a Certified Value Builder®.
